About a girl I used to love
The most beautiful thing I’ve ever seen below or above
I promised her heaven
Told her I would sing
Sit next to me we’ll ride the sun and see everything

Told her my desire
How every look every breath she took enflamed my fire

And of course I assumed she would comply
I was shocked and awed by her reply

She was hoping that her daddy that her daddy would save the day
The more she ran the more desperate I was that she would stay

And I tried to catch her
I kinda knew that she would run
Almost as if she forgot I’m as fast as the sun

We started running and she should please help me
As I put my arms around her her daddy turned her into a tree
